‘Grape’ Chalcedony - West Sulawesi, Indonesia
Mamaju Area, Sulawesi Barat Province, Sulawesi, Indonesia
45h x 40w x 20d spheres to 5mm across
Collected winter 2016
Purple to lilac sparkly spheres made up of radiating microcrystals growing together in botryoidal aggregates.
This one is quite sculptural and has the interesting addition of secondary crystal growth of single micro ‘sheaf-like’ gemmy crystals attached to the purple grape -like spheres.
An excellent quality specimen of this new find and very attractive.
This specimen is glued onto an acrylic base for easy display. No damage other than to areas where previous spheres were attached.
