ADD TO CART PAYPAL NOW AVAILABLE!!!

As of November 2010 all items may be purchased quickly and simply using the ADD TO CART buttons with each mineral specimen featured in the galleries. You may add as many specimens to your cart as you like ;-) At the moment I will probably need to manually overide the postage costs if several specimens are purchased together to reduce shipping costs. Right now each specimenhas a shipping cost attached at checkout which is calculated at a LOCAL RATE not INTERNATIONAL. I will get this figured out!! Don't let it put you off having a go using the shopping cart system though. It really is very easy!!! I have also just added an 'ARCHIVE GALLERY' of sold specimens to give people an idea of what they missed and encourage them to ask about similar specimens not yet uploaded to the site! you never know what i may have buried in a box in storage....Always worth asking - if I don't have it, I may be able to get it for you :-)

Welcome to the 'New look' website! Those eagle-eyed regulars will hopefully notice the site has been given a makeover and has been 'refreshed'. More updates and new stuff coming soon during the Autumn!!. The Oxford Show was really buzzing this March, and seemed much busier than last year. We certainly had a great time, catching up with folks and 'recycling' the many varied minerals on our table. Discounts are usually available to all our regular customers, who invariably go away with a bargain or two! I was that preoccupied, that i forgot to take any photos! The quality of the material on show, was very high this year - as were some of the prices on some dealers stands. This though, is the nature of the Oxford spring show, with a fair number of dealers fresh home from the Tucson show with new specimens to feast on. Look out for new specimens added to several galleries: AFRICA; PAKISTAN; amongst others - enjoy the photos and place an order!
Morocco pages are now loaded and ready for viewing - there are some fab Vanadinites on contrasting black Goethite /Hollandite and unusual garnets with hematite, plus Prehnite from Imilchil! Enjoy browsing the Galleries. More updates coming soon.

Back in May 2007 a group of us were invited by the folks at the National Museum of Man & Earth in Sofia, Bulgaria, to go mineral collecting. What a beautiful country!!
The scenery is fabulous and the people are wonderful.
we had a fantastic 10 days travelling around the country, trekking up & down mountains and visiting Lead mines and outcrops.
I've spent a fair bit of time since then trying to sort through the heap of specimens brought back (most for the collection though!) Meanwhile, here (in date order)is the promised slideshow to view just some of the many photos taken of the trip..!
website updated AUGUST - look out for new AFRICA page - more specimens coming soon. Also plenty of single crystals for all you Thumbnail collectors. look out too for more rare stuff on my MICROMOUNT website (look on the links page or paste this into your browser- www.micromounts.thomsonminerals.com ) more updates coming soon.
Spring Updates !!! Oxford Show Report
We had a great time at the recent Oxford Show, organised by Paul Lowe. Its always nice to catch up with folks. For a change I more or less stayed in budget with my 'rock habit' and did'nt buy excessive amounts for my collection :-) Must've been running a temperature or something....Anyway, we had a good day - got upgraded to a 'premier' table and had loads more room to spread out. My two new display units looked pretty fine too!Worked a treat. We may not have made a fortune, but unlike the full time dealers, who need to make a living at it, we did have a grand day out. LOOK OUT FOR THE FABULOUS GREEN FLUORAPOPHYLLITES IN THE ASIA GALLERY & DIOPTASE FROM ARIZONA & KAZAKHSTAN (sorry - sold).
