#BM05304 : Garnets & Hematite

Tamazeght Complex, High Atlas mountains, Morocco

2.5 x 2.1 x 2.0 cms : Thumbnail

$16.00

These unusual specimens came out of Morocco a couple of years ago (I first saw them in 2005)and I've not seen any since then.

A white matrix has scattered groups of red- orange slightly flattened spessartine Garnet crystals. Associated with the Garnets are metallic platy crystals of Hematite. The Garnets are approximately 2mm.

A super thumbnail of this unusual locality specimen

#BM05305 : Garnets & Hematite

Tamazeght Complex, High Atlas mountains, Morocco

3.2 x 2.1 x 1.7 cms : Small Miniature

$22.00

Another unusual Garnet and hematite combo from this relatively new locality. Recovered from the mining complex late 2004/ early 2005 , these specimens have not reappeared on the market since then.

The Garnets(about 2mm in size)are really gemmy and contrast beautifully against the white matrix, associated with the metallic platy Hematite crystals.

#BM05306 : Garnets & Hematite

Tamazeght Complex, High Atlas mountains, Morocco

2.9 x 2.0 x 1.4 cms : Thumbnail

$20.00

This is a great thumbnail (more of a toenail really!)of this unusual locality specimen. An excellent combination piece of gemmy red Garnets and metallic platy crystals of Hematite, contrasting beautifully against the white matrix.

I have not seen any more of these unusual specimens from here since 2005.

#BM05308 : Garnets & Hematite

Tamazeght Complex, High Atlas mountains, Morocco

5.2 x 2.0 x 3.5 cms : Miniature

$30.00

A slightly larger specimen from this unusual locality, showing groups of gemmy garnets (each crystal typically up to 2mm across)and displaying an unusual 'flattened' habit. The Garnets are typically associated with micro crystals of metallic platy hematite.

These unusual specimens have not come on to the market since i first saw them in 2005.

>#BM05309 :Prehnite

Imilchil, Anti Atlas Mountains, Morocco

4.2 x 2.5 x 1.0cms : Thumbnail

$18.00

More unusual locality specimens from the Anti Atlas Mountain area of Morocco. These were excavated and came on to the market in 2005. Must admit i had not come across anything like this from here before.

Well crystalised spheres of very pale green -cream Prehnite. Associated with white crystals of another mineral, probably Feldspar(although it could also be Chabazite!)Email me if you know.

>#BM05310 :Prehnite

Imilchil, Anti Atlas Mountains, Morocco

3.8 x 3.2 x 1.8cms : Thumbnail

$25.00

Another lovely Prehnite specimen, this one showing well crystalised spheres with a rose 'blush' to the crystals. This is probably due to iron inclusion. The associated white crystals may well be Chabazite or Feldspar (jury is still out on that one).

Excellent and unusual locality specimen (have you seen these offered anywhere else?)

#BM05310 :Prehnite

#BM05312 :Prehnite

Imilchil, Anti -Atlas Mountains, Morocco

4.6 x 3.4 x 2.0cms : Miniature

$28.00

These Prehnite specimens are really unusual. Ive not seen any others like this from this locality.

Well crystallised cream coloured spheres of Prehnite associated with white cubed crystals (Chabazite or feldspar?)
