A hefty lump of Limestone has a substantial crust of well crystalised Pyrite covering the top surface. Associated with some Calcite crystals, this specimen I collected in the mid 1990's.

A Quartz and Limonite matrix has an open vein of iron stained Quartz crystals. Upon these and contrasting nicely are rich baby blue acicular crystal aggregates and coatings of Aurichalcite. Collected early 1990's from a well documented but short-lived exposure. An excellent example.

Hard to find specimen of natural Smokey Quartz from one of the China Clay Pits of St.Austell. This nice miniature was collected in 1975. Some of the crystals show slight damage, but I have never seen a specimen from these open cast pits without any (apart from in museums!).

Really lovely crystal plate displaying pale purple - lilac Fluorite cubes. On one edge of these Fluorites is an excellent Galena crystal to 1.6cms across. Possably Blackdene Mine, though exact location not given. Still, a lovely Weardale specimen.

Pretty little specimen of a Quartz crystal cluster, collected from the Quarry during the 1990's.
Greystone Quarry is situated on the strike of a lode system worked by several small 19th C lead mines(Greystone silver lead mine, Wh Sophia, North Tamar). The quarry cuts the eastern end of the vein system worked by the latter mine.
